A CELEBRATION AND SHOWCASE OF A KNOWLEDGE CITY AT WORK

The inaugural Melbourne Knowledge Week was held from Sunday 14 to Saturday 20 November 2010.  Melbourne was a hive of activity with 29 events held to showcase the varied facets of a knowledge city including the arts, culture, sports, science and research, education and industry sectors. Many of the events held throughout the week embraced the theme from the Melbourne 2010 Knowledge Cities World Summit, moving knowledge from theory to practice, and were coupled together with the common objective of engaging the general public in a celebration of Melbourne’s knowledge assets.  Events included public forums, workshops, networking functions, performances, exhibitions, tours and information sessions.
